Knorr Brake is the American base of German-based Knorr-Bremse. It manufactures braking, door and HVAC systems for mass transit vehicles. After 18 years on Baltimore Boulevard, Knorr’s new $28 million, 235,000-square-foot facility is on Arthur Peck Drive, across Route 97 from the Carroll County Regional Airport.

St. Charles High School Waldorf, MD

When complete, St. Charles High School will house an estimated 1,600 students and will relieve overcrowding at high schools throughout the County. The 285,000-square foot school is a vertical school that stacks four academic houses on four floors and contains 78 teaching stations. The school includes core capacity for 1,920 students, which means hallways, restrooms and the cafeteria are built a little larger, anticipating growth and possible future use of trailers.
